Lime?

So here’s the problem. There was a question in the chemistry paper today asking how the growth of crops would be affected when farmers add LIME to the soil. LIME. QUICKLIME? SLAKED LIME? LIMESTONE? The least they could do was to clear things up a little. Anyway, I spent a considerable amount of time pondering and cracking my brain on the question and finally came to a conclusion. LIME is lime as I know of. Yes, the one with citric acid. Its totally logical ok? Even though I think it’s kind of funny as I come to think of it. And everybody else seem to have written their answer according to the alkaline one. But I am certain that the markers would understand my answer when they see it. LIME can be the fruit. And farmers could add the LIME juice to their soil or something. It’s not my fault for their ambiguity of their question.

You know what? I guess I never did really mention the reason for my blog hop to wordpress from blogspot. I suppose one of the reasons would be the more matured and sophisticated look of wordpress. Otherwise, wordpress keeps track of my posts according to categories and tags I give to them. In addition, it records my blog traffic, as you can see above, which to me, is uber cool.

The graph above actually reminds me of the tourist arrivals in the Southeast Asian countries for this decade. It steadily increases in the beginning because of rising affluence, improvements in technology, attractive holiday packages and changes in attitudes toward travel. It then drops drastically because of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, and the SEA haze. The numbers soon recover and increases especially during 2000 due to the millennium tourists. Numbers fall again later in 2001 because of the September 11 Terrorists Attacks and the Iraq war. Not forgetting the slight dip in 2003 because of SARS.
