It’s Fire Proof, Water Proof. It’s invincible!
February 27, 2008
My NJ uniform is said to be fire proof. Up to 7 seconds actually, before it starts to turn black. And its probably water proof too, considering its umbrella like material. Henceforth, you can probably tell its really sweat inducing to be in this uniform.
In addition, the uniform is GREY in colour. Which has absolutely no link with its RED P.E attire. My mom particularly thought that the P.E attire looks ridiculous in red and white. And when i replied her saying i was in the NATIONAL jc, she asked me why my uniform wasn’t red and white too? I was stumped. Good one mom.
To me, it really doesn’t matter that much. What bothers me most is without the doubt having to wear those BUTTONS again. After 4 years in NH, i thought i had escaped from the curse of the buttons, but alas, it seems some things are just going to stick around for a while more.
Meanwhile, my class seem to be expanding. The strength as of now is 26? or 25? Anyway, a guy from Cath High came to my class today. He got 10 A1s! Like hello…what are you doing in NJ? And more importantly, why are you in my class? Is my class really the ‘best’ class? This spells trouble. >.< yikes.
TELL ME MORE
February 22, 2008
My list of discoveries for the week of February 18:
1) CHIJ stands for ‘Covent of the Holy Infant Jesus’.
2) There is more LOVE in the air than expected, especially for some of my friends.
3) Singapore is far too small hence coincidences occur more frequently.
eg. Today after the road run, i had lunch with jean, kiangee, liyan and chinmeng at Plaza Singapura. When we reached the food court, I saw my section leader from harmonica eating there with her friends. Ok, so that’s a pleasant surprise, but after awhile, guess who we saw, our seniors from PA. Now that’s something you dont get to experience everyday, and its really interesting. With that, i thought, ok, coincidence…
Later, after lunch, we decided to watch a movie, and guess who came in too? EXACTLY.
Its really funny actually.

NJC to be HCI?
February 2, 2008
It is quite a known fact the NJC is gradually moving towards being a full IP school. Hence, from the following year onwards, NJC will be enrolling Secondary One students for their Integrated Program after the PSLE. This kindda makes me feel a little unjustified cause all the top 5 JCs are slowly becoming IP schools. That, at the same time would mean the intake for Secondary Four students would be greatly reduced. But oh well, it doesn’t affect me, so, whatever.
So what is it about this HCI thing you may ask. For starters, NJC is found on Hill Crest Avenue. And since we are becoming a full IP school, some of the teachers suggested we change our school name. Hence came the suggestion Hill Crest Institute, HCI. This is really funny cause if that is the case, there will be 2 HCIs along Bukit Timah Road. Hwa Chong and Hill Crest. LOL.
